The Longest Shutdown in History Ends
After forty-three days of a senseless Democrat shutdown, the government is once again open for business. Unlike the Washington Democrats who used the American people for leverage, my GOP colleagues and I proudly voted to end the shutdown to protect SNAP recipients and pay our hardworking TSA agents, air traffic controllers, and troops.
Now that the government is open, we must return to doing what the American people sent us to do: restoring stability, strengthening Main Street, and ensuring our nation’s security.
A Stronger Border, A Safer America
History was made at our southern border. Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Homeland Security announced the lowest number of October border crossings in CBP history and the sixth straight month of ZERO migrant releases.
I’m grateful to our brave law enforcement officers and border agents who make these results possible. America is stronger, safer, and more secure because of their work.

Honoring 250 Years of the United States Marine Corps
Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps. To every Marine, past and present, thank you for your service and for the example you set in defending freedom around the world.
Veterans Day
This month, we honor our veterans, the men and women whose courage and sacrifice make America the greatest nation on earth. During the shutdown, too many of our servicemembers faced unnecessary uncertainty. That must never happen again.
As Chairman of the House Small Business Committee, I’m working to ensure every veteran returning home has access to opportunity, whether through entrepreneurship, good jobs, or a fair shot at the American Dream.
I recently wrote an Op-Ed for Stars and Stripes outlining how veterans continue to serve our nation as business owners, innovators, and community leaders long after their time in uniform.

Texas Energy Innovation
This week, I toured Owen Oil Tools in Godley, Texas. Their facility is at the forefront of well-completion technology, fueling American energy independence. Owen Oil Tools is proof that when businesses are free to innovate and grow, America wins. I’m proud of the work being done right here in Texas and will continue fighting for policies that keep our energy sector strong and our economy thriving.
In Case You Missed It!
I joined Newsmax - Newsline to discuss the reopening of government and what it means for America’s economy. I made it clear: this shutdown could have ended weeks ago. Senate Democrats delayed progress by rejecting the same clean resolution they ultimately passed.
I spoke with NewsNation’s Morning in America about the road ahead for small businesses after the shutdown. Texans are resilient, and while Main Street felt the strain, we’re ready to bounce back stronger than ever.
I had a great conversation on Newsmax – National Report, discussing the Schumer shutdown and its impact on Main Street. We talked about how Democrats’ political games hurt small businesses, working families, and our economy.
