Amazon is rolling out smart grocery carts

Amazon is taking self-check out to the next level by testing smart shopping carts at its Woodland Hills, Calif., location this year. They are called Dash Carts and they automatically track a shopper’s order with embedded cameras, sensors and a smart display.

California shutdown 2.0

Gov. Gavin Newsom shut down indoor activities across California on Monday in a reversal of the state’s reopening plan. Newsom ordered houses of worship, gyms and barbershops to close across dozens of counties. Statewide, bars will need to again close down again and restaurants must halt indoor dining.

Small business confidence rises

According to a survey conducted by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), small-business owners’ confidence in the U.S. economy rose in June for second consecutive month as the country continued to reopen. "We're starting to see positive signs of increased consumer spending, but there is still much work to be done to get back to pre-crisis levels," said NFIB's chief economist Bill Dunkelberg.
