Dear John,
Safe and dignified futures for undocumented immigrants do not just happen—they’re fought hard for, and we can’t do it without your support.
Twenty years ago, Immigrants Rising, then known as Education for Fair Consideration (E4FC), began as a scholarship program for undocumented students, believing that all students should be able to pursue their academic and career goals regardless of their immigration status. Legislation like AB 540 had passed to enable undocumented students like me to pay in-state tuition in California, but many of us were still shut out, with very little clarity on what our futures would hold. It was our challenge to equip every new generation of undocumented students with tools to succeed in their own journeys while building skills to lead and serve the next generation.
