Friend,

I’m pissed.

I am infuriated by a cowardly Congress that is yet again shielding the rich and powerful from accountability.

I spent 26 years in the U.S. Navy and Air Force before retiring from the JAG Corps as a lieutenant colonel. As a prosecutor and supervising attorney, I made sure military personnel who possessed child pornography answered to a judge, jury, and jailer.

"Equal Justice Under Law" is inscribed above the entrance to the Supreme Court. I spent my legal and academic careers committed to that idea. Seeing the rich and powerful held not merely to a lesser standard, but to no standard, makes a mockery of that foundational principle.

As a candidate, Donald Trump made a promise to release the Epstein files if he won. He has been in office for nearly a year, and not only hasn’t done it, but he is trying to prevent it entirely.

My opponent, Senator Mike Rounds voted against releasing the files. What a disgrace.

When I look at Washington, I don't see leaders upholding their oath. I see career politicians like Mike Rounds who put party loyalty and their own political interests ahead of the very principles I swore to defend.

If I am elected to the U.S. Senate, I promise you that I will vote to release the damn files. If you want another Senator who believes in justice, can you chip in $20 to my campaign? [ [link removed] ]

I don’t care who is in the files. Whether Donald Trump or Bill Clinton, Americans deserve to know who was involved with Epstein. In our country, no one is or should be above the law. I am damn sure that the rich and powerful aren’t, even though they believe they are.

My commitment is the same one I made decades ago: I’ll always put service before self. Your donation today funds a campaign that answers to the Constitution, not the D.C. Country Club.
