Don’t miss this weekend’s Community Kauffee with Village President Ryan Kauffman, happening at 9 a.m. this Saturday (Nov. 15) at the Oswego Public Library. Arrive a little early at 8:30 a.m. to enjoy coffee, pastries and a chance to chat with neighbors before the presentation begins.
President Kauffman will be sharing details about the Village’s new Comprehensive Plan, and this is your opportunity to be part of the conversation about Oswego’s future. The Comprehensive Plan is more than just a policy document. It is a shared vision for what we want our community to look like in the years ahead.
Your feedback will help shape how Oswego grows and evolves over the next 10 to 20 years. From housing and transportation to parks, economic development and land use, every topic in the plan connects back to the quality of life we all value. It is about creating a community that balances growth with character, supports local businesses, protects natural resources and ensures that Oswego continues to be a vibrant and welcoming place for generations to come.
So, grab a cup of coffee, bring your ideas and join us for a morning of thoughtful discussion and community connection. Click here for more information and to RSVP!

Zone C its almost time for the second round of leaf collection which begins the week of Nov. 17
The third and final round of leaf collection will be Nov. 24 for ALL zones.
Place leaves in piles on the parkway near the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your scheduled week. Leaves not placed out by 7 a.m. will be collected during the next scheduled week for your zone.
Only leaves will be collected. Do not include brush, grass clippings, tree limbs, vines, or trash, as these materials can damage equipment and pose safety risks. Keep all leaves out of the curb and street to prevent flooding and hazardous conditions.

The flakes are ready to fall, and our Public Works crew is revving up the plows to keep roads safe and passable. While our snow pros handle the heavy lifting (and shoveling), we could use your help to keep winter running smoothly.
Before the snowflakes fly:
- Tighten up that mailbox now! Once the ground freezes, repairs are tougher than a January driveway.
-
Clear parkway snow at the end of your driveway so plows don't leave extra slush blocking your cars.
-
We love to see your snowmen and igloos take shape each winter just keep them in your yard, not in the street.
Who plows what:
-
Oswego Public Works: Main roads first (Douglas Rd., Boulder Hill Pass), then neighborhoods.
-
State of Illinois (IDOT): Routes 30, 31, 34, 71 & 25.
-
Kendall County: Orchard Rd., Grove Rd. & Plainfield Rd.
-
Oswego Township: Unincorporated areas.
A friendly reminder: plow drivers can’t see everything through a blizzard. Give them room to work, stay back and remind kids to stay clear of plow trucks.
Winter’s coming whether we like it or not, let’s work together to keep the roads clear and the season merry (or at least manageable). For full snow removal info, click here.
Need a few extra brownie points with Santa? Volunteer and earn your spot on the nice list while helping create a night the whole community will remember.
We’re looking for helping hands to make this year’s Christmas Walk on Dec. 5 truly special. From welcoming guests to lending a hand behind the scenes, our volunteers help turn downtown into a winter wonderland filled with lights, laughter and holiday joy.
Your time and enthusiasm will help make this cherished Oswego tradition sparkle. Click here to sign up today and share in the spirit of the season.
