Last Tuesday was a historic moment for Democratic Pro-choice women as they led a blue wave that washed over the entire country.
Abigail Spanberger and Ghazala Hashmi flipped Virginia's Governor and Lt. Governor seats.
Mikie Sherrill became New Jersey’s first Democratic Woman governor.
Mary Sheffield became the first Woman to be elected Mayor of Detroit.
Michelle Wu became the youngest mayor to be re-elected in Boston.
And in both Georgia and Mississippi, voters flipped seats to break two GOP supermajorities that have been in place for decades.
And here in Florida, five of our Ruth’s List women also had some major wins!
Commissioner Laura Dominguez in City of Miami Beach, Group 2 and Shan Rose for Orlando City Council, District 5 both won their re-elections!
Commissioner Eileen Higgins running for Mayor of the City of Miami, Monica Matteo-Salinas running for City Commission Group 1 in the City of Miami Beach, and Mira Tanna running for Orlando City Council, District 3 are all going to run-off on December 9th.
The momentum for women running for office is real, even right here in Florida- and we need your help to keep it going. Can you chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can today to help our efforts to elect more Democratic pro-choice women to office in 2025 and in 2026?
