Daily Dose of Democracy

Hi james,

The shutdown may finally be over, but the financial pain that so many American families felt from going for weeks without food stamps or paychecks is still very real. Still more American families are reeling from sky-high prices from Trump’s tariffs or have lost their jobs as Corporate America fires workers by the tens of thousands.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, earlier this year, Trump and the Republicans passed brutal $200 million budget cuts to SNAP in the Big Awful Bill. This has put millions of children and families in a direct path to hunger and food insecurity. 40 million Americans rely on SNAP for food, with nearly half of them being children — and it is nothing short of abject cruelty to yank that life-saving food assistance away from them.

That's why the No Kid Hungry nonprofit is organizing a Friendsgiving fundraising drive to get the community involved and help make sure people get the food they need. Will you step up and help feed American kids in need?

Take action!

The most recent data indicates that 13.5 percent of American families — or 18 MILLION households — suffered food insecurity last year. Both children and adults were food insecure in 8.9 percent of households with children, or 3.2 million families. This is beyond unacceptable in the richest country in the world.

We must stand in solidarity with hungry American families and help make sure we all get to eat a good meal come Thanksgiving time. Every $100 raised can provide up to 1,000 meals for kids in need!

Will you make a donation to make sure hungry kids have food at Thanksgiving?

Chip in!

Thanks for all you do,

Your friends at Dose of Democracy
