It's Red Cup Day -- Starbucks' biggest sales day of the year -- and this year, we're shutting it down. Starbucks knows where we stand. We've been clear and consistent on what we need to succeed: more take-home pay, better hours, resolving unfair labor practices. It's clear the only way to make them understand is to strike.
Don't let your friends cross the picket line! Spread the word not to buy Starbucks as long as we're on strike! Customize your own coffee cup, then share on social media >> [[link removed]]
Every cup of coffee skipped counts. When customers take action alongside us, Starbucks will have no choice but to listen.
I'm a barista in Buffalo, NY, and a proud member of the second Starbucks store in the country to unionize. For three years, I've worked the early shifts, poured lattes, smiled through the rush -- so I KNOW how hard baristas work to make this company run. Now we're fighting for ourselves. Our union is strong, united, and ready to do whatever it takes to win.
Today, union baristas across hundreds of cities are igniting the Red Cup Rebellion. Our demands are simple:
☕ Better hours
💵 Pay us what we're owed
⚖️ Respect our union rights
✊ And an end to union busting
Starbucks has stalled, backtracked, and stonewalled. They're fighting their own workers over a contract that would cost them less than one day of sales. Meanwhile, Starbucks made $36 BILLION last year.
Plus CEO Brian Niccol tops the list for CEO-to-worker pay gaps -- raking in millions while baristas struggle to pay rent. Starbucks can easily afford to treat workers with respect -- they just choose not to.
No more stalling. No more excuses. In the past few weeks, we've seen folks across the country rise up to fight against injustice. Now it's time to do the same for workers. No kings in the White House, no kings at work. No contract, no coffee! Share on social media now to spread the word. [[link removed]]
