I’m in Congress to do right by California’s 45th District -- so when the House passed a spending bill last night that doesn’t address our community’s urgent needs, I was extremely disappointed.
I voted against the bill because it did nothing to secure affordable healthcare for the thousands of Californians who are seeing their premiums skyrocket.
And while I cosponsored several amendments to the bill to ensure action on healthcare, Republican leadership refused to even consider them before the vote.
Trump and Congressional Republicans have lied time and again. We can’t trust them to put an extension of the ACA subsidies to a vote -- not while they continue to sell working families out to give their billionaire donors a tax break or spend millions on a lavish, taxpayer-funded ballroom.
That’s what makes flipping the House so important next year. Republicans have shown us their true colors -- and the American people can’t afford to suffer under their leadership any longer. We must retain this seat and flip the House next year.
We set an urgent goal to respond to last night’s vote, and I’m asking you directly: Will you chip in $3 -- or anything you can -- to help me win this race and hold the GOP accountable?
