I also promised to keep you updated on the shutdown and my actions: I voted NO on last night’s vote to reopen the government because this is a bad deal, plain and simple. It's an empty promise and a betrayal to the millions of Americans currently seeing a shutdown of their own healthcare.

But I’ll never stop fighting for the people no matter who I disagree with, and I thank you for your trust. Back to work.
