Dear Supporter,

As Congress has voted to reopen the government, still hanging in the balance are Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies. If extremists in Congress and the Trump Administration refuse to extend these tax credit subsidies, ‘near seniors’ (54-65) will see their premiums more than double in 2026, which will likely force many to lose their health care coverage altogether.

This battle is part of a broader plan to exact across-the-board cuts to the programs, benefits and services — including Social Security and Medicare — that you and millions of other older Americans rely on for your well-being and financial security. That’s why we must continue to speak up and speak out!

Please make your voice heard loud and clear in Washington by signing the National Committee’s EMERGENCY PETITION TO CONGRESS TO PROTECT SENIORS’ EARNED BENEFITS ( [link removed] ) today! Help us continue to send a strong message to every member of Congress they simply cannot ignore:

“Social Security and Medicare belong to workers and retirees — people who’ve paid into these programs their entire working lives— they DO NOT belong to politicians in Washington to do what they please!

Right now, the fate of the programs cherished by millions of older Americans is in the hands of some lawmakers and officials in the Trump Administration who’ve said Social Security is a “Ponzi scheme” … that your earned benefits are “too lavish” and “not sustainable” … and who have proclaimed “entitlement reform is a must.”

And proposals to cut benefits, raise the full retirement age, end traditional Medicare or open the door to misguided means testing schemes continue to loom large in Washington.

That’s why I need senior Americans like you to weigh in with your voice ( [link removed] ) on this important debate about the future of Social Security and Medicare!

While you participate in our grassroots petition campaigns like this, we are meeting with members of Congress, testifying at legislative hearings, writing op-eds and appearing in interviews on major media outlets, and conducting research on the complicated laws and regulations that affect your earned benefits … all to strengthen our case for protecting — not cutting — Social Security and Medicare.

In the final analysis, voters who make their wishes unmistakably clear to Congress in overwhelming numbers have the best chance to defeat any proposed benefit cut and challenge the radical demands of huge insurance companies and powerful drug companies. That’s the way our system works. So please sign our urgent petition today! ( [link removed] )

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
