I’m honored and humbled to share that this year, I received the Chairwoman’s Award from the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland during the Maryland Black Caucus Foundation’s 30th Annual Legislative Weekend!

The Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland works to improve life for Black Marylanders by advocating on legislative activities, stimulating and promoting economic growth within Black and minority communities, and working to improve housing, health, and educational opportunities in communities of color. I have been proud to partner with the Caucus and its members for years as a Delegate and now as Comptroller.

In fact, my agency just released a new tool, spurred by legislation championed by the Caucus that I sponsored, that creates a dashboard displaying contract awards through the Board of Public Works. You can check out this new tool here.

I look forward to many more years of partnership as we work to build a state that is more equitable, more resilient, and more prosperous so that every Marylander can reach their full potential.
