After receiving overwhelming praise at the National AOT Symposium & Learning Collaborative last March, Dr. Cindy Gipson’s presentation, A Tale of Two Cities: Examining the Impact of Demographics on AOT Program Outcomes in Alabama, is returning for an encore session this November.
Feedback from the event highlighted Dr. Gipson’s presentation as a standout session, mentioning the insightful analysis and thought-provoking look at the relationship between community, demographics, and program outcomes. Join us today, Thursday, November 13 at 3 p.m. ET as she revisits the data and lessons learned from two Alabama AOT programs serving very different communities, highlighting the strategies that led to success, and how both programs are achieving lasting impact and sustainability.
Cindy Gipson, Ph.D., is the Director of Crisis and Justice-Involved Services at AltaPointe Health and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Alabama. With over 30 years of experience in mental health, she has led crisis and diversion initiatives, served in the Alabama state hospital system, and provided mobile crisis response in Texas. A member of TAC’s national AOT advisory committee, Dr. Gipson also serves as a mental health liaison to the FBI’s Mobile Field Office and co-founded the Gulf Coast Threat Assessment and Management Team.
