John,

Some people in the political establishment don’t think a Democrat can win in Kentucky. To that, I say, have you heard about the three Republicans running for this open Senate seat?

Well, let’s just say they’re falling over themselves to see who can suck up to Trump the most. To these guys, this seat is about the next rung on the ladder of their political career. The people of Kentucky? We’re just an afterthought to them.

You’ve got Daniel Cameron, fresh off his statewide loss to our Democratic Governor, Andy Beshear, two years ago.

There’s Nate Morris, a literal garbage tycoon who’s got millions to spend and is doing his best to prove he’s the most extreme version of MAGA possible.

Finally, you’ve got Andy Barr, who’s currently serving his seventh term in Congress and somehow has next to nothing to show for it. He thinks he deserves a promotion, but he’s no political powerhouse — yours truly, a political newcomer at the time, came just 3% shy of defeating him in 2018.

One thing they all have in common? All three were once Mitch McConnell’s interns. (You can’t make this stuff up.)

But here’s the bottom line: none of them has the political machine that Mitch McConnell has.

And without decades of entrenched power behind them, all of them are incredibly beatable. But look, it’ll take our team building real people-power. I want to put together the kind of grassroots operation that can keep pace with these guys (and the powerful interests backing them) — and actually win.

The truth is that won’t happen without support from people like you — if you can, please split a donation of any amount between me and Blue Amp Action and let’s go build a grassroots movement capable of shocking the political establishment.

Thanks for being in this fight with me. Something incredible is happening in Kentucky — anyone counting us out should take note.

We cannot sugarcoat the current situation: Right-wing authoritarianism has infected democratic societies -- including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world.

We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights, including voting rights! are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits.

Democracy never sleeps, and neither can we.
