Illegal Alien Arrested After Stealing Texas Minor's Identity An illegal alien has been arrested after stealing the identity of a Texas minor, resulting in the young teenager losing critical healthcare benefits. Addie Hovland has the story [[link removed]].
Antonio De Jesus Moreno Escobar allegedly bought an entire fake identity package—including a stolen Social Security number, a Texas identification card, and a federal immigration green card—for $120.
The identity theft was first discovered after the mother of the victim received notification that her son’s Medicaid benefits were being ended due to fraudulent income being reported in his name. Escobar is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"This case is a disturbing example of how illegal aliens drain our resources, hurt innocent Texans, and even deprive children of vital healthcare." – Ken Paxton Trump Endorses Abbott for Fourth Term Just days after Gov. Greg Abbott officially announced his campaign for an unprecedented fourth term, President Donald Trump has endorsed him for re-election. Brandon Waltens has the details [[link removed]].
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump praised Abbott as a “strong and highly respected Governor of Texas.” He also credited the governor with defending conservative priorities and steering Texas through what he called a “BIG WIN” for Republicans.
On Sunday, the governor launched his re-election campaign at a rally in Houston, where he unveiled a new property tax reform proposal aimed at providing big tax cuts for homeowners.
Earlier this year, President Trump endorsed nearly every Republican incumbent in the Texas Legislature after the passage of school choice legislation. Tarrant County GOP Chairman Bo French Announces Run for Railroad Commission Tarrant County Republican Party Chairman Bo French announced yesterday that he will not seek reelection as county chair and instead run for the Texas Railroad Commission [[link removed]] in 2026. He is challenging incumbent Jim Wright for the GOP nomination.
Despite its name, the Railroad Commission has nothing to do with railroads. It oversees the state’s vital oil and gas industry, pipelines, natural gas utilities, and surface mining. The agency is run by three commissioners elected statewide to staggered six-year terms.
French said he would bring an “America First” approach to the Railroad Commission, noting his decades of investment experience in Texas' energy sector.
The other two commissioners are Wayne Christian and Christi Craddick. Craddick, recently re-elected in 2024, is now running for state comptroller but will not have to vacate her commission seat during her campaign. Grieving Families Sue Camp Mystic Travis Morgan reports [[link removed]] that families of flood victims filed a lawsuit against Camp Mystic and its owners, charging gross negligence and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
Catastrophic floods on July 4 resulted in the deaths of 20 girls and two teenage counselors. Camp Mystic, founded in 1926, sits on 725 acres in the Texas Hill Country on the Guadalupe River. The owner, Richard Eastland, died while attempting to save campers. His estate is named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million in damages, claiming that Camp Mystic had an extensive history of flooding. They allege that the Defendants knew about the danger, but ignored warnings and chose to focus on profits over safety. Teacher’s Aide Admits ‘Intimate Relationship’ With Student A South Texas teacher’s aide, Andrea Melba Rodriguez, has been arrested after admitting to an "intimate relationship" with a middle school student. As Erin Anderson reports [[link removed]], the woman worked in Runge Independent School District in Karnes County.
According to the Karnes County Sheriff’s Office, Rodriguez destroyed evidence related to the investigation. However, she reportedly admitted that the relationship had taken place over an "extended period of time."
Runge ISD's superintendent said the district followed all required procedures once informed of the situation. He confirmed Rodriguez is no longer employed by the district. Today in History
