“Life before contact was incredible. We lived on the river, and would travel to the other side to plant our gardens. When it was time, we would abandon those gardens to the forest and make new ones in another place.” — Salomon Dunu, an elderly Matsés man from Peru.

Survival has been campaigning for the rights of uncontacted peoples for over 56 years. And whenever we speak to recently contacted people, they convey a similar message: don’t let anyone contact our uncontacted relatives.

“Our uncontacted brothers still live in the forest. We know they’re out there. My own son has seen them. They live like we did before,” says Salomon. “Now I’m asking you to help us. Because the uncontacted people are out there, we want the government to protect the land. We need space to live.”

Survival campaigns to stop the loggers, miners, and missionaries, who invade the lands of uncontacted peoples. But we can’t continue our work without your support.
