Purpose: The proposed project aims to enhance the intersection at Business 83 and Pine Street in Abilene, Texas. Currently, the intersection features a non-standard configuration that creates multiple conflict points, leading to potential safety and operational concerns. To address these issues, the project proposes reconfiguring the intersection into either a conventional T-intersection or a roundabout. Both alternatives are designed to improve driver expectations, streamline traffic flow and significantly reduce the number of conflict points. No additional right-of-way (ROW) acquisition is anticipated for either improvement option.
