By now, I’m confident you’ve seen the videos depicting a truly chaotic situation on the UC Berkeley campus this week.

These videos are viral online and all over the news.

I spoke to the NBC affiliate in San Francisco last night.

When I give interviews like this, it always bothers me that they only air short soundbites.

That is why I put together a short explainer video…

UC Berkeley Mob Chaos, Center for American Liberty CEO, Mark Trammell, breaks down what really happened - and why it matters.
Berkeley prides itself as the Birthplace of the Free Speech Movement yet time and time again it falls short of its self-proclaimed accolade.

Harmeet and I sued Berkeley back in 2017 after the university censored conservative speakers on campus.

It looks like Berkeley administrators still have a lot to learn about protecting free speech!

Public universities—and their publicly funded police forces—must protect all of their students, regardless of their views or beliefs…

…Equal Protection requires it.

They cannot allow an Antifa mob to harass and physically assault conservative students leaving a campus lecture.

John, that is why the Center for American Liberty is opening its own investigation into UC Berkeley and the policies and procedures governing all universities within the UC and the Cal. State systems.

We cannot sit back while Antifa and the radical left use threats of violence to chill the peaceful expression of conservative ideas on campus.
