From Juneau to You! July 13, 2020 ‌ ‌ ‌ Session: Capitol Building Room 417 Juneau, AK 99801 (907) 465-4930 Interim: 1500 W Benson Blvd. Room 328 Anchorage AK 99503 (907) 269-0174 #VoteSafeAlaska Dear friends and neighbors, Voting is important to our democratic process. It is our civic duty, and a critical component to ensuring your voice is heard. As Alaska continues to see an increase in COVID-19 cases, it is essential to stay safe. Going to a polling location may be risky and could put your family and friends at risk. But you don’t have to go to the polls to vote. Anyone, for any reason, may request an absentee ballot to vote by mail. To stay safe and protected from COVID-19, I encourage you to request an absentee ballot to vote by mail. To request an absentee ballot online, visit www.elections.alaska.gov and fill out an online application. The process to vote-by-mail is now a little easier in Alaska. The Alaska Division of Elections opened up an online portal that allows Alaskans to request an absentee ballot for this year's elections. Previously, voters had to mail, fax, or email an application to the Division of Elections. The Online Absentee Ballot Application System uses a driver's license or State ID card information to allow you to request absentee ballots. If you don't have a driver's license or state ID, you can still apply but you must use the paper form. The Online Absentee Ballot System can also be used to register to vote and to update voter registration information. All absentee ballot applications are reviewed by the Alaska Division of Elections. You may check the status of your application at myvoterinformation.alaska.gov. Contact the Division of Elections at [email protected] or call (907) 270-2700 or for toll-free at (877) 375-6508 if you have questions or if you would like an absentee ballot application mailed to you. The application period is open now, and it takes two minutes to apply. If you are already registered to vote, your absentee ballot application must be received by August 8 for the Primary election on August 18, 2020. If you are updating your voting information or registering to vote, your absentee ballot application must be received by July 19, 2020. #VoteSafeAlaska #VoteByMail I’m Senator Elvi, always..... “Representing Your Interests!” ‌ ‌ ‌ Jacob Tatum Chief of Staff Phone: 907-465-4930 [email protected] L.
