Celebrating Veterans Day Outdoors
Today is a day to honor the people who have served our country. The values that guide our military -- integrity, resilience, selfless service, and duty -- align deeply with the Sierra Club's own commitment to justice, collaboration, and transformation. Together, these values fuel our shared mission: to build communities grounded in purpose, healing, and care for one another and the planet.
Watch this video to learn how our Military Outdoors program connects veterans, active-duty service members, and their families with the restorative power of nature.

The Clean Water Act Is at Risk!
Access to clean, safe, reliable water is a fundamental human right. The Clean Water Act, which was passed 53 years ago, has served as the most fundamental tool for protecting our nation's waters and the communities that rely on them. For decades, the Sierra Club has played a pivotal role in resisting efforts to narrow or weaken critical safeguards. Yet again, a dangerous bill in Congress threatens to dismantle Clean Water Act protections, empower polluters, and jeopardize our health and environment.
Tell your representatives to vote NO on this critical threat to our water and future.

Holiday Action Hour: Growing the Environmental Movement
Most people in the US think it's important to protect our environment, but we tend not to talk about it. Having conversations about the actions we can take to protect our air, water, public lands, and climate can actually help increase support for environmental protections. With the holiday season fast approaching, many of us are likely to see family members, neighbors, and old friends in person and have the opportunity to engage on these issues.
Join our November 20 Virtual Action Hour to learn why these conversations matter and how to have them effectively!

Stopping Trump's Polluter Playground
Did you know that oil and gas companies spent $450 million to get Trump and congressional Republicans elected so they can continue to poison our communities and climate without consequence? Enough is enough. The movement to hold them accountable is growing.
Join the livestream on November 13 to learn how we can make polluters pay.

The Dirty Truth Behind Your Energy Bills
The Sierra Club just released our annual Dirty Truth Report. We rated 75 utilities across the country on their plans to retire coal, add new gas, and invest in clean energy. This year, utilities scored extremely low, reflecting an alarming trend of utility companies backsliding on their climate commitments and relying on dirty, expensive fossil fuels.
See how your local utility scored!

Give Back to the Places You Love
Join a Sierra Club service trip and make a real impact on the lands you love. These volunteer vacations combine outdoor adventure with meaningful conservation work, from restoring trails and habitats to maintaining historic sites and backcountry facilities alongside park staff. As public land agencies face funding cuts and uncertainty, your hands-on help is needed now more than ever. Participants ages 18 to 35 are eligible for a $300 scholarship on select trips, making it easier than ever to explore while giving back.

A Veteran's Day Reflection
"My life before the Marines, during my service, and in the years afterward are defined by navigating extremes. Living as an American in the United States of America is inherently an act of extremism. To wake up and choose to love ourselves, maintain resilience, and choose hope is an act of bravery."

Art That Heals and Reveals
Debra Mackenzie, of the University of New Mexico, works with tribes throughout the Southwest to bring Indigenous artwork to health-care communications. She and her team connected with Zuni Pueblo artist Mallery Quetawki, who now uses Native American symbology to lower barriers to understanding health and science research in a way that honors Indigenous values and culture.
Learn how Indigenous artwork is helping tribal members protect themselves from harmful environmental exposures.

This Natural Disaster Has Upended Life for Rural Alaskans
Western Alaska has become the testing ground for America's climate future -- one where disasters are not distant hypotheticals but are present, repeated, and compounding. For residents in the region, the costs of climate change are no longer abstract; they're measured in flooded homes, displaced families, and the reshaping of coastlines.
Where do these communities go from here?
