Hi John, This weekend, the Crisis Intervention and Support Leadership Team came together in Philadelphia for a powerful few days of connection, strategic planning, and shared purpose.
Our focus was on strengthening our framework for crisis response–but just as importantly, on listening to the voices of educators and school staff whose experiences too often go unheard. Their insights remind us that lasting change in both the prevention and aftermath of gun violence must begin with those on the front lines of our schools.
Liesl Fressola, a survivor of the Sandy Hook tragedy and an advocate for mental health, shared a reflection on the power of this time together: "The connections that I was able to make today will forever be with me. I know that today was healing for me. I could feel it in my mind and body.” |
