 John — Washington politicians should never have played politics with our health care. The GOP plan to raise health care costs on millions of Americans is ridiculous, and it’s time for elected officials to stop playing petty political games and do their jobs. Any deal that drives up health care costs is a nonstarter. Look, too many working families are already struggling. Surging health care costs will break the bank for even more. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Instead of cutting taxes for billionaires, Washington could make health care more affordable and accessible — not to mention fund our public schools, invest in job training, and help bring down the high cost of housing. When I was Governor of North Carolina, we focused on this and more — because I believe that our government should work for all of us. Not just the wealthy and well-connected. It’s time for Washington to do the same.
