If we do not do the impossible, we shall be faced with the unthinkable – Murray Bookchin

Hi John!

Last week, we learned the news that Palantir has renewed its ICE contract, in spite of our community rising to put an end to the terror they are enabling. On Friday, a mass mobilization organized by the Coalition to Close the Concentration Camps was held at their Palo Alto headquarters, and more will come as this fight continues. To join the CCCC and learn about upcoming actions, sign up here ([link removed]) .

To see what our working groups are up to and ways to get involved this week, read on below! If you're not sure where to begin, if you have a project you would like to work on, or if you just want to say hi, you can also stop by Orchard Valley Coffee ([link removed]) in Campbell, on Monday, August 26, at any time between 9am and 2pm. Members will meet to work on various tasks, and would be happy to see you there! 👋

In Solidarity,
Your SV DSA Newsletter Team 🌹

Silicon Valley DSA is your local chapter of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). We're a nationwide movement organizing for democratic socialism.

** Calls to Action
------------------------------------------------------------
Our Healthcare Working Group is continuing public outreach with the Santa Clara County Single Payer Health Care Coalition in support of Medicare For All, keeping the pressure on Congresswoman Anna Eshoo to sign on to HR 1384 and having a hearing in the Healthcare Subcommittee. This is a newbie friendly event – no prior experience is needed. We’ll go over the materials and all the information you need, and if you have not tabled before, we’ll make sure to team you up with an experienced comrade. Sign up here ([link removed]) , and let us know when you're available for future tabling events!

The meetings start at 7pm, but we'll have the doors open starting at 6:30 to hang out and eat snacks, which is a great way to get to know more about the chapter if this is your first meeting. ✨
