Friends, today a federal court stepped in and ordered the USDA to provide full SNAP benefits by tomorrow.
This is very good news, but the Trump administration has already filed an appeal, so we can’t let up now. Join our fight to hold this administration accountable by chipping in now.
The Trump administration has been cruelly and illegally failing more than 41 million Americans who rely on SNAP to afford groceries — so last week, I led a coalition of 25 states and the District of Columbia in filing a lawsuit to restore full funding.
Within days, two federal district courts determined that the Trump administration broke the law by choosing to suspend November SNAP benefits.
The law is clear: shutdown or not, the government must fund SNAP — and they have the funds to do it. Now, the court has ordered the USDA to do exactly that.
But the fight isn’t over — instead of getting to work delivering vital food assistance to millions of people, the USDA is focused on appealing this order.
Families who are already going hungry can’t afford more delays. We will keep taking legal action until this administration stops playing politics with people’s basic needs.
Please join this fight. Pitch in $10, $25, or whatever you can right now to power our work.
