Team — Virginia made history last night, dare we say… HERstory.

Thanks to your support, Roe Your Vote Virginia helped make reproductive rights the defining issue of this election. From the moment we launched after the fall of Roe, we’ve worked to elect leaders who would protect our freedom, and now, we’re one step closer to making abortion rights permanent in Virginia’s Constitution.

On Tuesday, that work paid off.

Pro–reproductive freedom candidates won up and down the ballot, including Virginia’s first woman governor, the first woman Muslim lieutenant governor, and the first Black attorney general, who have all long stood up for reproductive rights and will bring integrity and compassion to their offices.

In the House, 10 of the 13 flipped seats were won by women, expanding the number of women in the Democratic caucus from 27 to 37, a record-breaking majority that will ensure our values are represented in every debate. Together, these victories put us within striking distance of putting the Reproductive Freedom Constitutional Amendment on the ballot in November 2026.

The next step is clear: the General Assembly must pass the amendment again in 2026 to send it to voters. When that happens, Virginians will have the chance to make reproductive freedom the law of the land, no matter who’s in office.

We could not have come this far without you. Your belief, your organizing, your contributions: they’ve built a movement that’s rewriting Virginia’s future.

This amendment isn’t just about the right to choose. It’s about privacy. It’s about autonomy. It’s about freedom.

Now, let’s finish the job.
