Voters across the country just sent a resounding message: we reject Trump’s agenda – and we’re ready to fight for progress.

People For the American Way.

Friend,

Last night was one for the history books.

Across the country, voters delivered a resounding, electrifying rejection of the MAGA movement – and a sweeping victory for Democrats who ran on bold ideas, compassion, and common sense. They voted for affordability. They voted for fairness. They voted to put people before profits. They rejected appeals to bigotry. And the results were nothing short of historic.

In Virginia, Democrats didn’t just win – they flipped the governor’s mansion, the lieutenant governor’s office, and the attorney general’s seat, while expanding their majority in the House of Delegates. Voters made Abigail Spanberger the state’s first-ever female governor, elected the first Muslim statewide official in U.S. history as lieutenant governor, and elected the state’s first Black attorney general.

In New York City, Zohran Mamdani shocked the establishment and defeated Andrew Cuomo in a landslide, becoming mayor after running a powerful grassroots campaign focused squarely on affordability, housing, and justice – the very issues Republicans have ignored or worsened in their endless effort to serve the wealthy few.

And in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill won her race for governor, defeating a Trump-endorsed extremist who bragged about his support from the president. Voters saw right through it – and sent him packing.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, Democrats held the State Supreme Court by double digits, protecting fair elections and civil rights for years to come.

There was also a big victory in Maine, where voters rejected a Republican-backed measure that would have made it harder to vote by requiring photo IDs, limiting drop boxes, and restricting access to absentee ballots. This was a clear defense of voting rights – and another reminder that when voters show up, democracy wins.

And out west, California voters delivered a decisive victory for Proposition 50, overwhelmingly approving a plan to undo the GOP’s gerrymandering schemes and restore fair representation ahead of next year’s midterms.

From coast to coast, Americans voted for a government that works for working people – not one that caters to billionaire donors.

But right now, in Washington, Republicans are still holding the government hostage in the longest shutdown in U.S. history – refusing to restore health care subsidies that millions rely on for affordable coverage, all to protect tax cuts for the rich.

That’s not what voters demanded last night. They voted for affordability, fairness, and leadership that puts people first. And now, Senate Democrats must hold the line.

Call your senators TODAY and tell them to fund health care subsidies, end the shutdown, and protect affordability for millions of Americans. >>

MAKE THE CALL NOW >>

Millions are paying the price for Republican greed. It’s time to make sure they hear from every single one of us.

Let’s harness this momentum, end the shutdown, and keep building a future where our government works for the people – not the powerful few.

Together,

People For the American Way

P.S. Last night proved what we’ve known all along: when we organize, we win. Let’s keep the pressure on – call your senators today and tell them to fund health care subsidies and end the shutdown. >>
