Whether you love it or hate it, New York City is one of those places that represents the USA all over the world. The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, the site of the 9/11 attacks…all those things are part of the American experience. You know where they are and what they look like even if you’ve never set foot in the Big Apple. 
 
But they've elected a "Democratic Socialist" to be mayor of the city. His ideas are utopian until you realize they sound a whole lot like communism. 
 
His victory speech tells us everything we need to know about Mamdani's New York City.
