John,

We received news a few weeks ago that the Department of Agriculture would freeze payments for SNAP programs because the funding had run out – due to Trump’s shutdown.

This would leave millions of hungry families without food, in the month of Thanksgiving.

1 in 8 people in this country rely on SNAP, and nearly 40% of SNAP recipients are children.

If you rely on SNAP benefits, and are wondering about how to feed your family, you can click here to find the food pantry closest to you. [[link removed]]

If you want to support your community, you can make food or monetary donations to your local food bank. Food pantries have already sounded the alarm about their fear of running out of stock this month and we highly encourage you to donate if you can.

Please look out for your community,
Lucy
