SCOTUS Looks at Eliminating Conversion Therapy Ban:
The Supreme Court seems likely to side with an Evangelical therapist challenging Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy, after hearing arguments this October. This therapy practice is often used by religious extremists in an attempt to change LGBTQ+ minors' sexual orientation or gender identity.
Conversion therapy has been widely discredited by major medical organizations and poses serious mental health risks to its patients. If the ban is overturned, therapists in 25 states could legally impose this harmful practice. The Court’s decision is expected in summer 2026.
