[ [link removed] ] Gun lobby-backed politicians are prioritizing guns during the shutdown
John-

As millions of Americans are feeling the impact of a government shutdown,
gun lobby-backed politicians are prioritizing doing the gun lobby's
bidding—like introducing new legislation to make access to guns easier
during a shutdown:

shouldn’t shut down your Second Amendment rights. The NRA applauds
@RepBenCline and @SenatorRisch for introducing the Firearm Access During
Shutdowns Act to ensure firearm processes remain essential."

They want to pass a bill that would prioritize keeping the flow of gun
sales moving even as paychecks stall and essential services remain
frozen—we have to do something about this. That's why we must mobilize our
base of nearly 11 million supporters to advocate for stronger gun laws and
educate the public on gun safety, hold the gun industry accountable, and
work toward a future free of gun violence.

[ [link removed] ]John, help us fight back, prepare, and mobilize with a
donation to the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund today. Together, we
can build safer communities and keep up the fight to end gun violence in
all its forms.

Worse yet, in the middle of this government shutdown, these same gun
lobby-backed politicians are also pushing to hold a vote on a federal
Concealed Carry Mandate once the government reopens. This mandate would
force each state to allow people—including people with dangerous histories
like convicted stalkers and domestic abusers—from other states to carry
hidden, loaded guns in public, including in states where they would not
otherwise be allowed to carry.

We simply can't allow the gun lobby's priorities to take precedence over
the safety of the American people. [ [link removed] ]Help us hold their allies
accountable, organize our grassroots network to build safer communities,
educate the public on common-sense gun policies, and build lasting power
to end gun violence by donating to the Everytown for Gun Safety Action
Fund today.
