Friend: Our emergency response team is on the ground in Jamaica offering assistance at damaged hospitals and health centers in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

Our team met with staff at the Black River Hospital, the only hospital that served St. Elizabeth and the neighboring parishes – which has been decimated by one of the strongest Atlantic storms in 150 years.

Every hospital staff member is a survivor. Most of the doctors and nurses of Black River Hospital have been living in their cars. The hospital is offering acute emergency care but cannot currently admit anyone due to extensive damage.
