Here’s an update from our campaign:

It has been more than a month, and Senate Democrats remain unwilling to vote to reopen the federal government.

Despite the House passing a clean continuing resolution (CR) to prevent a lapse in federal funding, Democrats in the Senate are demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending to reopen the federal government.

Members of the military, federal law enforcement, and air traffic controllers are not being paid. Meanwhile, many members ([link removed]) of Congress continue to accept pay. This is wrong.

At my request, my pay has been withheld. I believe that no member of Congress should be paid during a shutdown. I am working on legislation to prevent members of Congress from collecting pay during the shutdown.

If members of our military do not receive a paycheck, members of Congress shouldn’t either.

Winning in Wisconsin

It’s no secret that elections in Wisconsin are close. Our seat, the 1st Congressional District, is one of the most competitive seats in the country. We are working every day to get out our message and win in 2026.

On Saturday, I joined the Kenosha County Republican Party for their annual Lincoln Dinner. I discussed my work in Congress, how important WI01 is to winning statewide, and the success we have had moving Kenosha to the right.

For example, in 2018, we received 47.2% of the vote in Kenosha County and LOST the county by 2%, but still winning the race for WI-01. Thanks to hard working volunteers, in 2024, we received 53.3% of the vote in Kenosha County and WON the county by 8.7%. We’ve seen a 10.7% swing in our direction in the last 6 years.

At the top of the ticket, in 2020, President Trump received 50.7% of the vote in Kenosha County and WON the county by 3.1%. In 2024, President Trump received 52.3% of the vote in Kenosha County and WON the county by 6.2%. President Trump saw a 3.09% swing in his direction over the last 4 years.

That increase is the biggest among Wisconsin’s most populous counties. This only possible because of the hard work of our volunteers and the team at the Kenosha County Republican Party.
