Dear John,
Happy Election Day Eve!
If you haven't yet voted and plan to go to the polls tomorrow, we wanted to share some important info that you'll need before you head out:
-
If you still have an absentee ballot, DO NOT MAIL IT. Bring it to your town clerk's office or a drop box location in your town today or tomorrow before 8 PM.
-
Not sure where to vote? Find your polling place here.
-
Looking for more information on the referendum questions? Read the non-partisan Citizen’s Guide to the 2025 Maine Referendum Election on the Secretary of State’s website.
-
If you run into any problems at the polls or have questions about how to vote on election day, you can call or text the League of Women Voters hotline at (207) 558-3333.
MCV encourages you to vote NO on Question 1 to keep absentee voting accessible to all Mainers. You can visit saveabsentee.me for more information about Question 1 and it's many proposed changes to Maine's election laws.
And, we encourage you to vote YES on Question 2. It would create a new type of judicial order called an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), also known as a “Red Flag” law. It is a straightforward, common sense way to reduce gun violence that's already on the books in 21 other states and Washington D.C, where they have been used effectively to disarm people who threatened mass shootings.
Thank you for being a conservation voter!
