Friend,
This past weekend, I headed to New Jersey to knock on doors for my friend and fellow veteran Mikie Sherrill, who is running in one of the most competitive gubernatorial races in the country.
 
I first met Mikie in 2018 when she was running for Congress. Hearing her story, learning about her service background, and understanding the incredible impact she had already had on the lives around her made it a no-brainer to invest in her 100% through my Serve America PAC. We helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for her in that race, and I have continued to support her and partner with her in the last few years.
Mikie and I share a lot in common. We both served our country in uniform — she as a Navy helicopter pilot and I as a Marine infantry officer. We both came home determined to continue serving by rolling up our sleeves and fighting for a better future here at home.
Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are pulling out all the stops to flip New Jersey red. They’ve endorsed Mikie’s opponent, flooded the state with dark money, and weaponized government power to attack her personally. But Mikie’s not backing down, and neither am I.
I’ve seen firsthand how much it matters when Democrats show up for one another. We flipped more than two dozen red seats through Serve America by recruiting veterans and service-driven leaders who put country before politics. When we work together, we win. It's as simple as that.
Mikie’s fight in New Jersey isn’t just about one state. It’s about whether we have the courage to stand up to Trump’s authoritarianism, defend our democracy, and prove that integrity and service still mean something in American politics.
