This is not the Congressional map Ohioans deserve. Throughout the redistricting process, our Republican colleagues made it abundantly clear that they had no interest in transparency, upholding the constitution, or drawing a fair map for the benefit of the people of Ohio.
The only way things change is if we can find the courage to move to a system where citizens, not politicians, draw our lines.
However, I also want to be clear about one thing: the maps we were able to secure (on the right) give us a very real path to five Democratic Congressional seats in Ohio, whereas, the map Republicans would’ve passed (on the left) if we had missed our deadline and gone into November, would have all but guaranteed us no more than two.
