Dear friends,

Thirty years ago, the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin
shocked Israel and the world – a devastating moment that marked the loss
of a leader who dared to believe that peace with the Palestinian people
was possible.

As we mark this somber anniversary, we invite our friends in the Greater
DC area to commemorate Rabin’s life and legacy in two meaningful ways this
Tuesday: One in person and one online.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Join J Street’s National Webinar

A special conversation on memory, legacy and our commitment to continue
Rabin’s work toward peace.

Featuring:

* Yael Patir, Israeli policy expert and former J Street Israel Director
* Aaron David Miller, veteran American diplomat and member of the US
negotiating team that worked closely with Rabin during the Oslo years

“What Rabin’s Legacy Demands of Us”
🗓️ Tuesday, November 4
⏰ 2pm Eastern

Together, we’ll reflect on Rabin’s complex legacy – the soldier who came
to understand that Israel’s future could not be built on endless wars and
occupation, but on courage, compromise and coexistence.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Attend an In-Person Community Commemoration in Bethesda

Hosted by Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation and co-sponsored by J
Street:

“Thirty Years After Rabin: A Community Commemoration on Peace, Democracy
and Hope”
📍 7727 Persimmon Tree Ln, Bethesda, MD 20817
🗓️ Tuesday, November 4
⏰ 7:30-8:45pm
🔗 [ [link removed] ]Register >>

The evening will feature Aaron David Miller, Laura Blumenfeld and Natan
Guttman, along with music and readings from Voices Festival Productions,
exploring Rabin’s final month and the forces that led to that fateful
night.

Stay afterward for coffee, cookies and conversation with fellow community
members.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We hope you’ll join us tomorrow – online or in person – to honor his
memory and recommit to his vision of peace, democracy and safety for all.

With hope,

Tamar Ariel
National Director of Engagement, J Street

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy
Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the
Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we
advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish
and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
