Hey John,
Tomorrow we vote to protect our democracy — or hand it over to people who want to lock you out. Question 1 isn’t just another ballot item; it’s an attack on every single Maine voter.
Here’s the deal: Question 1 would erect new barriers to voting, weaken checks on elected officials, and tilt our democracy toward special-interest donors. If it passes, it won’t matter how many Mainers are registered to vote. It will matter how many people can jump through these voter-suppression hoops.
The good news? We can beat it, but we need your help tomorrow -- Election Day -- to make sure every voter turns out to defeat this referendum.
We have canvasses and call shifts across Maine — from Biddeford to Belfast and everywhere in between. Can you commit to one shift tomorrow?
Once you sign up for a shift, our friends at the Maine Dems will be in touch with more information to get you started.
Thank you for everything you do to protect our democracy and our fundamental right to vote.
