Are you aware of the Landmines targeting Michigan's children and parents?

Hey friends -

TIME-SENSITIVE: You are invited to join our Zoom Briefing tomorrow night, Monday November 3 at 8 PM for an overview of a very urgent issue.

Are you aware that the Michigan Department of Education has proposed the adoption of new Health Standards that will do the following?

What does Our Department of Education Want to Teach Our Children in Health Class?

• Introduce new sexual topics such as gender identity and sexual orientation in Health class at your local public school (note that Health class is required for graduation).

• Train youth to be LGBT activists.

• Elevate the influence of other adults in a child's life - encouraging them to go home and "coach" their parents on environmental justice.

• Skip over the Legislative process. By putting these new sex-ed topics officially into Health class (instead of in a standalone Sex-Ed class), the State Board of Education will effectively "make new law." 
  
  Their action will bypass the 2007 law Michigan Legislators (and Governor Granholm) put into law that allows parents to Opt-Out of Sex-Ed, AND requires an Advisory Board.

• Teachers will need to notify parents every time a sexual topic will be presented – as required by Michigan law! But who has thought about the implications and administration of this? 
  
  This will create confusion, chaos and place a huge burden on teachers (and local school boards who will make the decisions on curriculum).

Once the State Board of Education votes on these policies - it then becomes the "golden" standard local school districts will be expected to follow. (This is contrary to what you may hear; it will be implemented because it will affect accreditation. See here.)
