Good morning, friends!
It's really fall in North Carolina now that we've reached November. Nighttime temperatures are quite cold, and it's finally cool enough to wear a sweater and not regret it a few hours into the day. The trees are colorful, and everywhere you look, it's clear that we are finally in full-on autumn. I love this weather because I absolutely hate being hot, and it isn't quite cold enough to make my joints hurt. (I sound like I'm 110 when I say that about my joints!)
Speaking of which, my physical therapist is a miracle worker. Between the strengthening and flexibility exercises and something called "dry needling," I've seen some real improvement in my mobility. I won't soon be running any marathons (or even walking for several miles), but this has really helped dramatically. I'll write in more detail about dry needling this week. I started to put the details here, but it was beginning to sound more like an article!
There was a horrible stabbing attack last night on a London train. Officials say there is "no evidence of terrorism" and have released few details about the two attackers, aside from the fact they are "Black British nationals." Eleven passengers have been hospitalized, nine of them with life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, British people are going to jail over social media posts complaining about all the violence of late. It's really quite disturbing, and because of the threat of prison, it's difficult to get the whole story of what is truly happening there. This is just one of the reasons that free speech is so very essential.
Today seems like a good day for a cozy pot of soup, which I plan to get into the crockpot right away once I check my available ingredients. It's a good way to welcome the true brisk autumn weather AND use up little bits of ingredients that aren't enough for an entire dish. My family loves soup and fresh bread, thankfully, which is a thrifty meal for good times or bad ones.
I'm off to do my daily NYT crossword puzzle. I know, I know, it's the Times, but I only do the puzzles! I don't read the articles!
By the way, we're just getting started, but my oldest daughter and I are working on an Etsy store. You can get a sneak peek of our first few items here. There's lots more to come!
I hope that you have a wonderful, cozy Sunday!
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
