Happy Sunday, True Texans!
This has been an exhausting week for me and Fran! Why? Because we interviewed62candidates for the Primary Election in March! WOW! That includes:
15 judicial candidates
32 state legislature candidates
7 statewide candidates
1 SBOE candidate
7 congressional candidates
And there will be more! Plus, your local leadership teams are doing interviews as well. It's a whole lotta work, but I gotta tell ya... it feels GREAT to personally know every single person I cast my ballot for. We take our role very seriously when it comes to recommending candidates, so it's all in a day's work for us, and we are happy to serve Texas in this way. We'll be announcing our picks in a few weeks, but before that...
Don't forget to vote in the GENERAL ELECTION on Tuesday!
Yes, that's this week! Our recommendations are on our website... just like they always are for every election! Get in the habit of looking. The web address is easy:
Let's Review In last week's newsletter, I unloaded a ton of announcements on you. I don't want you to miss a thing, so let's just review really quick...

Are you just amazed at how much we have going on??? Me too! Our mission statement says we educate, motivate, and engage. Can you see how we are actively doing all three, all the time. Who else does as much as True Texas Project?
NO JOKE. This may surprise you, but our budget is about 25% of what similar "grassroots" political organizations have. Read that again. We work harder and do more, and...
we do it with 75% less funding.
Wha??? 75%??? YES! That's not a typo. All I can say is it's a God-thing. We've got the best volunteers giving up time & talent, plus a skeleton staff that even all took pay cuts to help us make ends meet. And in everything we do, we work hard to keep our costs rock bottom (speaker fees, venues costs, etc). Why? All for the love of Texas, of course!
Knowing all this... Can you help? We are trying to add 40newmonthlydonors before the end of the year. You'd think with the 1000s of Texans who utilize our voting recommendations, training opportunities, speakers, meetings, and social events, it wouldn't be hard to find 40 people willing to chip in $35/month. (That's the average, but we'll take anything!). Well... think again! Fran and I are constantly having to beat the bushes, and it distracts from the real work of saving Texas that we are meant to do. Come on, already! What about you?
Remember... everyone who sets up a recurring donation of at least $25/month gets a free t-shirt!
This week at a glance... Kind of a slow week for events, so take this opportunity to work the polls on Tuesday, and then rest up for a jam-packed rest of the month!
Tuesday: no Weekly Line Dancing in Tarrant county this week or next
This month at a glance... Here is our 🍁November🍂 calendar, just bursting with new opportunities for us all to get involved and build stronger community. Note: This is your LAST CHANCE to get to a monthly meeting in 2025, we do not meet in December.
If you haven't watched yet, people have really had their eyes opened by the special interview Fran and I did with a gentleman from South Africa.
We've also go our candidate interviews available on our website. This includes candidates for Texas Governor and Texas Ag Commissioner. And on Nov 7 we release interviews of candidates for Texas Attorney General.
