Democrats Are Using the American People as Leverage
Sadly, we are now a month into the Democrats’ government shutdown, and we continue to see how it's hurting real families. This weekend, 42 million individuals across the country will lose their SNAP benefits, and nearly 7 million will lose access to WIC as these programs run dry.
In Louisiana, this means 800,000 people will lose SNAP benefits, and another 99,000 will lose access to WIC. It’s disgraceful that Democrats know that they're causing pain on the American people. They admit that there is suffering, but they're doing it for leverage for their radical agenda.
Luckily, President Trump announced his administration is working with the courts to try to find a way to get SNAP funded for the millions of families in need.
This would have never happened if Democrats voted for the clean continuing resolution. Instead, they voted against funding the government 14 times. The only way to stop all this suffering is for Democrats to come to their senses and vote to reopen our government.
