Three Democrat state Supreme Court justices are facing retention elections on Tuesday. They are Justices David Wecht, Christine Donohue, and Kevin Dougherty. Pennsylvania’s Democrat-dominated Supreme Court is very political. It redrew Pennsylvania’s congressional districts in 2018, wiping out three Republican seats. In 2020, the court kicked the Green Party presidential candidate off the ballot to boost Joe Biden. In 2024, the justices rewrote state election law regarding mail-in ballots.
