In just 3 days, results will start to come in for some of the most competitive and consequential races for our climate and democracy this year.

But before we get there, I’d like to pause to say thank you for all you’ve done to get us to this moment, John.

Whether you've chipped in a few bucks, signed petitions to protect our public lands, volunteered with one of our incredible candidates, or shared our messages with friends and family throughout the year — you’ve been part of something bigger than any one of us.

Now, as we approach our first major electoral test since Donald Trump returned to the White House, I want to give you a quick look at what we’re looking out for on Tuesday:

VIRGINIA

Every single seat in the House of Delegates is on the ballot. We've endorsed 18 climate champions, and Democrats are defending a majority so narrow that Republicans need just a few seats to flip control. We have three real opportunities to flip Republican-held districts, including two where our candidates lost by fewer than 200 votes last election.

We also have Ghazala Hashmi running for Lieutenant Governor against an opponent who's taken over $50,000 from Dominion Energy — the same big polluter she's fought for years.

PENNSYLVANIA

We're finishing what we started in 2023. The Luzerne County Council used to have a 10-1 Republican supermajority. We helped break it. Now, if we win just two more seats, we’ll flip the entire council to a pro-environment majority and cement the progress we made in 2023.

We're also backing Joe Khan for Bucks County District Attorney — a county Trump won by just 291 votes last year — and Tara Zrinski for Northampton County Executive. Tara has spent years fighting pipelines, fracking, and fossil fuel interests in her community, and she’s ready to implement a climate action plan to lead the county forward.

COLORADO

Our candidates are taking on some of the state's worst corporate polluters in communities that desperately need environmental justice. From Commerce City — one of the most polluted zip codes in America — to Aurora, where a massive fracking project threatens the city's water supply, our climate champions refuse to let their neighbors become sacrifice zones.

GEORGIA, MICHIGAN, MISSISSIPPI, OHIO, & TEXAS

Our climate champions are running for everything from school boards to the Public Service Commission to Congress — high-stakes positions with real power to block corporate polluters and invest in clean energy.

In total, we have over 60 candidates in more than 10 states running to Trump-proof their communities, challenge the status quo, and deliver bold, forward-thinking solutions.

So this is it, John. This is when campaigns deploy their final get-out-the-vote operations. When they make their last push to reach undecided voters. When every conversation, every door knock, every phone call could tip these races.
