John,
Election Day is coming up in just a few days in many states.
The progressive Working Families Party has endorsed local and state candidates around the country, including only two candidates in Michigan: Gabriela Santiago-Romero and Denzel McCampbell.
Members of the Democratic Socialists of America, these champions for the working class are running for Detroit’s City Council against corporate Democrats.
Can you chip in today to fuel the Michigan Working Families Party PAC’s work to Get Out the Vote for these bold change-makers, who’ll serve the people rather than corporations or billionaires?
Detroit is one of the poorest cities in the country, and more than half of our city’s children are now living in poverty. But Denzel’s opponent has continually aligned with Republicans as a state Representative, voting NO on paid family leave, raising the minimum wage, funding public schools, and reproductive rights.
When speaking with residents, Denzel has found that people want something different; they want representatives who center the needs of Detroiters rather than catering to special interests and corporations. Recently we knocked on doors and spoke with voters together:
Gaby, who’s running for re-election, has spearheaded and won changes to hold corporate polluters accountable, make housing more affordable, protect immigrants and other vulnerable residents, and expand Paratransit services for seniors and disabled people. She’s also worked directly with constituents in need, resolving over 1,000 cases with them.
The Michigan Working Families Party PAC is getting out the vote for these two bold leaders who are committed to co-governing with their constituents.
When we build the bench of progressive local leaders, we deepen our democracy, help our communities thrive, increase our ability to hold lawmakers accountable to serving the people, and grow our power nationwide.
Will you pitch in to power the Michigan Working Families Party PAC’s work to Get Out the Vote and elect Gaby and Denzel in the next few days? Let’s fight for a more just and equitable country, and show that progressive change-makers can win!

John,
With less than 5 days until Election Day, we need all hands on deck to elect the only Michigan candidates endorsed by the progressive Working Families Party: Gabriela Santiago-Romero and Denzel McCampbell.
The Michigan Working Families Party is getting out the vote for these bold change-makers who will serve the people rather than corporations. Both members of the Democratic Socialists of America, Denzel and Gaby are running against corporate Democrats.
Here’s part of their flyer for Get Out the Vote events for Gaby and Denzel:
In these last few days until Election Day, every moment counts when knocking doors and calling voters. Will you chip in today to support the Michigan Working Families Party PAC’s urgent Get Out the Vote work to elect these people-centered champions?
The Working Families Party’s Neighborhood Captains program has mobilized Detroiters to encourage their neighbors to vote.
In addition to knocking on doors and making phone calls, these captains have hosted neighborhood events to discuss issues and build relationships with their neighbors. This is an important step toward long-term community-based relational organizing that regularly engages voters in issues that impact them.
Denzel has led campaigns for justice and equity, voting rights and campaign finance reform, and responsive governments that co-govern with constituents. He is running against a State Representative who has voted with Republicans against paid family leave, against raising the minimum wage, and against public school funding—while failing to protect reproductive rights.
Detroit is one of the poorest cities in the country, so its residents deserve elected leaders who serve the working class. Denzel and Gaby are running for Detroit City Council to make housing and healthcare affordable, protect immigrants and other vulnerable residents, hold corporate polluters accountable, and push for a budget that centers community investment.
Gaby, who’s running for re-election, hit the ground running in her first term on the council. She secured funding to keep Detroiters in their homes and to support first-time homeowners, passed a policy to protect Detroiters from industrial pollution, and created a successful Community Violence Intervention program. She’s also offering “know your rights” trainings for immigrants and championing policy to limit local police cooperation with ICE.
Right now, we need a surge of grassroots funding to help Gaby and Denzel overcome corporate PAC spending and win on Tuesday—Election Day.
Please donate to the Michigan Working Families Party PAC’s urgent work to Get Out the Vote for these people-powered change-makers. Together, we’re fighting for a government that serves the people rather than corporations or billionaires.
