SNAP Benefits Delayed

When food assistance gets delayed, it’s not just numbers on a page—it’s dinner plans, grocery lists, and peace of mind. I’ve heard from families who are stretching every dollar and wondering when their benefits will come through. That’s not right, and I’m working to get answers and results.

Due to the pause in SNAP/LINK benefits, the Greater Chicago Food Depository is setting up additional sites to distribute prepackaged boxes of groceries every Saturday of November. Each box contains more than 20 pounds of food. The schedule for November 1st is below.

Shutdown Update

Families across Illinois are feeling the effects of the government shutdown. Hardworking people are suffering from the impending delayed SNAP benefits and rising healthcare costs as a result of the ongoing Republican gridlock.

No parent should have to choose between paying bills and feeding their kids or worry about losing health coverage because of politics. I’m fighting to end the shutdown, protect food assistance, and keep healthcare affordable for every family.
