As we approach November 1 — day 32 of the Democrat Shutdown — 42 million Americans are about to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, cutting off food assistance for struggling families, seniors, and children.

Meanwhile, Democrats see this crisis not as a tragedy, but as leverage.

House Democrat Whip Katherine Clark said the quiet part out loud: “There will be families that are going to suffer… but it is one of the few leverage times we have.” Democrat Senator Chris Coons agreed, admitting that denying Americans their benefits is “unpleasant,” but calling it worth it because it gives Democrats political “leverage.”

While some Americans stare down empty pantries, Democrats celebrate their so-called “leverage” — all to “stick it to Trump” and appease their radical socialist base.

That’s not leadership. That’s cruelty.

Let’s be clear: House Republicans have already passed a clean, responsible funding bill to keep the government open and protect critical programs like SNAP. But Senate Democrats have blocked the bill 13 times. Their hatred for President Trump is punishing innocent Americans.

It’s time to end this madness.
