Dear Friend,

In this week's roundup: Day 31 of the Democrat-led government shutdown. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week!

DEMOCRATS HAVE NOW KEPT THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN FOR 31 DAYS

Here we are again. Democrats have now kept the government shut down for 31 days all to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants and spend $1.5 trillion we don't have.

Republicans did our job and passed a clean funding bill that would have prevented this unnecessary shutdown. Instead, Democrats chose to play politics and put their radical agenda ahead of Iowa families, farmers, seniors, and small businesses.

Due to the Democrat shutdown, 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP face serious uncertainty, several airports have been forced to implement ground stops as Air Traffic Controllers go without pay, and paychecks for our National Guard are being withheld.

President Trump has done everything in his power, like paying the troops and reopening FSA offices, to shield Iowans and Americans from the Democrat shutdown, but Democrats hold the keys to reopening the government.

They should end their liberal charade and do what's right for the American people.

Shutdown set to deliver harshest blow yet as SNAP funding for millions runs out

Government shutdown threatens to cut SNAP food benefits for over 40 million Americans starting November 1st. Working families and seniors face potential hunger crisis.

PRESIDENT TRUMP DELIVERS FOR IOWA FARMERS!

I thank President Trump for standing with Iowa farmers and opening the Chinese market to Iowa agricultural goods!

This deal will ensure that our soybean growers can sell their product to China to the tune of 12 million metric tons immediately and 25 million metric tons annually, which will power our ag economy forward.

President Trump continues to deliver for Iowa agriculture!

Trump secures China agreement to buy millions of tons of US soybeans, Bessent says after Xi meeting

On the heels of President Trump's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China is poised to make massive U.S. soybean purchases.

THANK YOU TO GOVERNOR REYNOLDS FOR STANDING UP FOR IOWANS IN NEED

Thank you to Governor Reynolds for doing what Democrats won’t — taking action to feed Iowans in need.

It’s shameful that Democrats are playing politics at the expense of our families and communities.

This support for Iowa’s food banks will do so much good.

Gov. Kim Reynolds says Iowa will match $1M in food bank donations as SNAP benefits lapse

Reynolds said she has also ordered the Iowa National Guard to prepare to carry out food distribution missions around the state as needed.

WORKING TO SUPPORT HOMEGROWN IOWA BIOFUELS

This week, I led a letter to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin in support of the EPA’s proposed Renewable Volume Obligations.

President Trump has done great work to lower prices at the pump.

We can continue that success with homegrown Iowa biofuels from the American heartland.

ONE LAST THING: SIOUXLAND SOUP KITCHEN SUPPORTS OUR NEIGHBORS

Organizations like the Siouxland Soup Kitchen are critical for those in need in our communities.

I appreciate everything that the dedicated volunteers do to serve those less fortunate and ensure vulnerable families can enjoy a meal.

You can read the full story below.

'It's a really rewarding experience': How volunteers make a difference at Siouxland Soup Kitchen

Food insecurity is an issue all across Siouxland and a local non-profit aims to make a difference. The Siouxland Soup Kitchen was founded back in 1987 with a simple mission: to feed anyone who is hungry.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: DELIVERING DEATH TAX RELIEF FOR IOWA FARMERS AND SMALL BUSINESSES

As part of President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts, I included my bill to increase the death tax exemption to $15 million so that farmers and entrepreneurs don’t need to sell their farm or business that they worked for generations to build just to pay a huge tax bill from the federal government.

Born and raised in rural Iowa, I want our communities to thrive. That means supporting agriculture, small businesses, and manufacturing and passing policies that encourage economic growth and development.

From delivering additional relief from the death tax to investing in our small businesses on Main Street, we will build a stronger and more prosperous Iowa.

Read more in my weekly column below.

My weekly column: Delivering death tax relief for Iowa farmers and small businesses

Family farms, small businesses, and local manufacturers are the backbone of Iowa's economy. Agriculture, business, and manufacturing create good jobs in our communities, keep our main streets strong, and help young families plant their roots in Iowa.
