Trump has stacked his administration with election deniers who back his claim that the 2020 elections were stolen.1 These Trump loyalists are overseeing the midterms, and they’re dismantling systems meant to secure voting and striking fear into election officials.2

Trump is also sending so-called election monitors to California and New Jersey who could seize ballot boxes and fix the election for him.3 Governor Gavin Newsom said, “Deploying these federal forces appears to be an intimidation tactic meant for one thing: Suppress the vote.”4

As Trump unleashes this dangerous election chaos, he says he “would love” to serve an unconstitutional third term.5 Republicans in Congress are backing Trump’s power grab by pushing the SAVE Act — a devastating voter suppression bill that will make it harder for tens of millions of people to cast their ballots. House Republicans already passed the bill, so we must stop it in the Senate.

In a rant on Truth Social, Trump repeated his calls for national voter ID and an end to mail-in and early voting. He again called the 2020 election “Rigged and Stolen,” all while he actively works to rig and steal the midterms.6

Fueled by the far-right’s propaganda about so-called “non-citizen voting,” the SAVE Act would require people to prove that they’re citizens in order to vote by providing a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers. 21 million eligible voters don’t have these documents readily available.7

The Senate must stop this brazen attack on voting rights and block Trump’s efforts to end democratic elections.
