I want to talk about our neighbors across the river today, and why we should be paying attention to Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.

This race is personal to me. 

As a meteorologist trusted with people’s safety for decades, it was horrifying to see IA-01’s current representative Marianette Miller-Meeks peddle dangerous conspiracy theories when hurricanes wreaked havoc on our communities. And as a representative who believes in showing up, I ended up hosting town halls in her district because she wouldn’t.

In fact, she’s said she will only host a town hall, “when Hell freezes over.”

That’s why I am proud to support my friend Democrat Christina Bohannan’s bid to take her seat in Congress, and make both sides of the Mississippi Union strong. I hope you’ll join me:
