The Village’s second round of free leaf collection begins the week of Nov. 3 for Zone A, Nov. 10 for Zone B and Nov. 17 for Zone C.
Place leaves in piles on the parkway near the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your scheduled week. Leaves not placed out by 7 a.m. will be collected during the next scheduled week for your zone.
Only leaves will be collected. Do not include brush, grass clippings, tree limbs, vines, or trash, as these materials can damage equipment and pose safety risks. Keep all leaves out of the curb and street to prevent flooding and hazardous conditions.

Congratulations to Ron Westphal Chevrolet for being recognized as the Oswego Economic Development Commission’s Business of the Month for September 2025.
A cornerstone of the Oswego community for over 45 years, Ron Westphal Chevrolet has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted, family-owned dealership known for its friendly, low-pressure approach and deep community roots. Founded by Ron Westphal and led today by General Manager Bill Houlis, the dealership has been a fixture on Route 34 since the 1980s—back when it was still surrounded by cornfields.
Their commitment to Oswego goes far beyond cars. As active members of the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce and proud sponsors of events like PrairieFest and the Christmas Walk, Westphal Chevy continues to invest in the people and places that make our village special.
Please join us in congratulating Ron Westphal Chevrolet and thanking them for their continued support and service to our community!

As the children of Oswego transform into princesses, superheroes, witches and wizards on Oct. 31, the Village encourages families to follow the trick-or-treating hours from 3:30 to 8 p.m.
Here are a few steps parents and guardians can take to ensure their children’s safety.
- Ensure children trick-or-treat only during this time frame.
- Be safe and only visit homes with front door lights on.
- Make sure masks do not block children’s front and side vision.
- If you are trick-or-treating after dark, use reflective tape on costumes and carry a flashlight.
- Young children should be accompanied by a responsible adult while out.
- Know the routes that older, unaccompanied children are planning to take and set a time for them to be home.
- Children should go out in groups rather than by themselves.
- Examine the treats you children have collected. While tampering with Halloween treats is rare, be vigilant for any unusual packaging.
Wishing everyone a fun-filled and safe Halloween night!
